Because one of tthe games I play (Starlancer) crashes to desktop whenever the game port is used WITH EAX hardware 3d sound enabled.

SB PCI512 Neither Fish nor Fowl
I think that I don't use the mouse in this game, one of the memory limits gets me when I try... Here are the settings that worked for me: w98SE, 128M ram, toshiba dvd-rom, sblive (original), annihilator pro, intellieye mouse (on mouse port)... I still have problems with the sound cutting out periodically.

I remove from device manager anything that has to do with the SBlive, including the Creative Gameport Joystick, the Multimedia Interface, the SB16 Emulation (more to come on this in a moment) and the SBlive itself. When rebooting, the machine redetects all of the hardware and the stick works!
